Statistics: Russia’s inflation at zero in September 24–Monday
MOSCOW, Oct 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price inflation was registered at zero from September 24 through Monday for a second week in a row, and reached 2.2% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Wednesday.
Sugar prices fell by 1.1%, prices for millet by 0.5%, and for chicken meat and vodka by 0.2%.
Fruit and vegetable prices fell by 0.9% on average. Prices for carrots decreased by 3.7%, for potatoes and onion by 3.1%, for cabbage by 2.1%, and for apples by 1.8%.
Tomato prices went up 4.5%, and cucumber prices increased by 3.1%. Prices for buckwheat rose by 1.2%, for canned meat, butter, margarine, chicken eggs, and chocolate sweets by 0.3%, for frozen fish, sterilized milk, sour cream, and curd by 0.2%.
Gasoline and diesel fuel prices remained flat.
